If you think Chicago is excited about the 2016 Games, check out Naperville's Olympic spirit.
A group called "Naperville Backs the Bid" has gone so far as to come up with a song and dance to support Chicago in its bid for the Olympics.
Karl Knutson of FunkyJazzyPop came up with the Chicago 2016 song and residents have spent the past few weeks learning the Naperville Slide. They'll be singing and dancing on the riverfront Friday, leading up to the announcement from Copenhagen.
Veronica Porter organized the riverfront rally. She says the excitement level is rising. "It's going to be a very, very fun, festive event, celebrating our community spirit and looking forward to the ... announcement, where we hear that Chicago did win the games," she said.
A lot of suburbs are banking on the 2016 Games giving them an economic boost. Porter says Naperville is located 28 miles from Chicago and has accomodations, restaurants, shopping and other attractions. She says what's good for Chicago will be good for the region.
The Naperville event starts at 11 a.m. on Chicago Avenue between Washington and Main Streets.
