TONIGHT ON EXTENSION 720

THE DELIGHTS OF FRENCH CUISINE AND CULTURE
The French are renowned for their love of rich food, fine wine, and decadent desserts. Yet, the French people (on the whole) do not suffer from the overwhelming obesity that has afflicted Americans. Tonight, we will discover the secrets behind the French joie de vivre with two experts in French cuisine and culture: DOMINIQUE TOUGNE, executive chef at Bistro 110 in Chicago and former chef at some of the top restaurants in Paris, and MIREILLE GIULIANO, the bestselling author of French Women Don't Get Fat: The Secret of Eating for Pleasure and the author of the new book French Women for All Seasons: A Year of Secrets, Recipes and Pleasure.

Information on past and future shows is available at our program guide. You can listen to WGN on the internet here. Extension 720 airs weeknights from 9 to 11 p.m. central time.

Enjoyed your "French" show. I hope you saw the article in the NYT recently about France. Evidently, the country is broke and is selling off quite a few of their beautiful, government- owned buildings that have deteriorated due to lack of funds.

Still the French seem to live the "good life." They're doing something right.
