AN ENCOUNTER WITH SUSAN SONTAG...

Our last encounter with S.S. was somewhat less unnerving; indeed it was rather pleasant as she discussed her just-published novel. She was, as most readers will know, the first wife of the recently deceased Philip Rieff.
