...there are earlier precedents, particularly if one broadens the term to include other modes of unsolicited "violation" of the sanctity of the individual. This item from a few years ago, as published in the New Criterion magazine, will make the otherwise slightly enigmatic reference of the prior sentence instantly apparent.
