  15. White Sox Sr VP of Marketing, Brooks Boyer

Brooks Boyer enters his seventh season as vice president and chief marketing officer for the White Sox in 2010, overseeing Sox marketing, corporate partnerships sales and service, ticket sales and service, premium seating and service, broadcasting, game operations, promotions, advertising, multicultural sales and marketing, licensing and business development. Boyer also is the CEO of Silver Chalice Ventures, which was created to diversify White Sox business operations and owns one-year old Silver Chalice New Media.
During Boyer's tenure at the White Sox, the organization drew 12.7 million fans from 2005-2009, the highest five-year total in franchise history. The club drew more than 2.28 million fans in 2009, setting a record with the team's fifth straight year over 2 million in attendance. Included in that run is a franchise-record 2,957,111 in 2006. In August 2006, the White Sox capped a record attendance season by topping all other Chicago sports teams (Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and Cubs) in Scarborough Research's WAL (Watched, Attended, Listened) figures, with 57.3 percent of all Chicagoans taking in a Sox game in 2006.
Other notable White Sox marketing accomplishments during Boyer's tenure include the introduction of the United Scout Seats and Jim Beam Club; securing season-long presenting sponsorships (U.S. Cellular 2005-2008) and securing sponsorship for the LG Skyline Club Level, Comcast Fundamentals Deck, Miller Lite Bullpen Sports Bar and the Miller Lite Extra Base; creating the team's "take the field" audio and visual montage; orchestrating fan participation in the historic "blackout game" tiebreaker vs. Minnesota in 2008, creating one of Chicago sports' most memorable ballpark atmospheres; the re-introduction to the "Go-Go White Sox" song from the 1950s; directing the "Grinder Rules" advertising and brand campaign; and establishing annual theme days such as Mullet Night, Father-Daughter Day, Blackhawks Night, and others.
Boyer also is responsible for the club's relationships with its broadcast partners, WGN-TV, Comcast SportsNet Chicago and WCIU-TV on the television side, the White Sox radio flagship station, WSCR 670 The Score, and its Spanish-language radio partner -- Univision Radio's La Tremenda (WRTO 1200 AM). He serves as the club's marketing liaison to Major League Baseball and is leading the club's charge in the retail (merchandise and novelties) area.
Boyer helped create and launch Silver Chalice Ventures (SCV) in January 2009. SCV uses its industry experience to help clients create a business at the intersection of their brand, new media and the sports/entertainment world. As CEO, Boyer oversees the long-term strategic vision, budget planning and business execution for the firm. Within its first year of operation, Silver Chalice New Media helped create the mobile website and iPhone application for the SEC Sports Digital Network, built andlaunched BullsTV at bulls.com and advised clients on how to create business in the digital space, concentrating on Internet and mobile platforms.
Boyer is one of four members of the board of directors for Camelback Ranch -- Glendale, the spring training home of the White Sox and the Dodgers. The board oversees the year-round business operations of the facility. Boyer is also a board member of the Bulls-Sox Training Academy in Lisle, Ill., advising on the business operations and focusing on youth fan development. Boyer is a member of the board of Chicago White Sox Charities, the club's charitable initiative that annually provides support to various programs and charities throughout the Chicago area.
In 2008, Boyer was named one of Crain's Chicago Business "40 Under 40," recognizing 40 of Chicago's brightest and best business professionals under the age of 40. In 2007, Boyer was selected as one of Sports Business Journal's "40 Under 40," recognizing him as an influential figure in the national sports business landscape.
Prior to joining the White Sox in April 2004, Boyer spent 10 years at the Chicago Bulls. As senior director of corporate sponsorships (1998-2003), Boyer was responsible for overseeing Bulls and United Center sponsorships, advertising sales and sponsor services. He was with the franchise for the final three of its six NBA titles.
A 1994 graduate of Notre Dame where he was a member of the basketball team (1990-94) and a two-time captain, Boyer also is a graduate of the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul and was recently inducted into the Lumen Christi High School (Jackson, Mich.) Sports Hall of Fame.
He and his wife, Julie, reside in Downers Grove with their six children: Joslyn (9), Kylie (8), Reeghan (6), Quinn (4), Brody (2) and Brynlee (1 in September
