RADIO 720 ANNOUNCES ITS HOMETOWN VOICES TOUR
Chicago,
August 30, 2005… WGN Radio has announced
its plans to launch a new series of broadcasts from various
Chicagoland communities. Beginning in September, the WGN
Radio Hometown Voices Tour will take one of WGN Radio’s
weekday programs to a different community one day each month
for a live broadcast.
“WGN's
Hometown Voices Tour will take ‘The Voice of Chicago’
to its listeners, keeping the connection to our community
strong,” said Tom Langmyer, vice president/general
manager of WGN Radio. The locations will vary each month,
with the broadcast emanating from a unique spot in each
community, whether it is a diner, a historic site or another
special venue in the community. The tour will celebrate
the history, schools, businesses and people that make each
hometown in Chicagoland a special place.
The
WGN Radio Hometown Voices Tour kicks off on September 8th
with morning man Spike O'Dell, who will be broadcasting
live from the Chicago Historical Society as a way to preview
the unique history of Chicago’s neighborhoods and
its surrounding towns. Afternoon drive personality John
Williams will host the first live community broadcast from
Oak Park on September 15th.
