Manager Jon LeBlanc was a bit startled when a customer walked into his Hayward, WI grocery store around 8:00 p.m. last Thursday night.
The customer wasn't there to rob the place. He wasn't causing a commotion. He wasn't carrying a weapon.
The problem?
He was a bear.
As LeBlanc described to WGN Radio's Greg Jarrett, he evacuated the customers from Marketplace Foods and called in the authorities. The bear wandered around the aisles a bit, but mostly seemed like "he was on a mission." He ended up in the beer cooler, where he sat quietly for about an hour until officials arrived with a tranquilizer gun and were able to safely remove him.
And, yes, he did sit above a shelf of Hamm's beer.
