Since then, he has become one of the most-studied of political
theorists and military strategists. Tonight we will take an in-depth
look at the influence of Machiavellian philosophy in his time
and today. Joining us will be CHRISTOPHER LYNCH, assistant professor
of political science at Carthage College and editor and translator
of Machiavelli’s
Art
of War, along with NATHAN TARCOV, chair of the Committee
on Social Thought at the University of Chicago.

between peace and democracy and how it affects world affairs.

political science at the University of Chicago and author of the
