MONDAY JANUARY 8TH
A COMIC RELAPSE

In the company of actors and academics we take a look at Restoration comedy. A period of great flourishing for the English stage, following and flouting the puritan strictures of the Commonwealth, the restoration spawned some of the funniest theatre ever written. Tune in tonight as we talk about such classics as, The School for Scandal, The Relapse and The Way of The World, illustrated with readings from the plays themselves.

TUESDAY JANUARY 9TH
KILLER WOMAN BLUES

Milt talks to BENJAMIN DEMOTT, arguably one of America's leading social and cultural critics, about his new book Killer Woman Blues: Why Americans Can't Think Straight about Gender and Power. According to DeMott modern feminism damages women and society by encouraging women to ape aggressive male behavior, rather than showing sufficient deference to differences in behavior molded by nature and history. Tune in tonight as modern fallacies of all varieties are dissected on Extension 720.

A VISIT WITH PRESIDENT CARTER

Tonight we are honored to play an interview recorded earlier in the afternoon with PRESIDENT JIMMY CARTER as he discusses his recently published book, An Hour Before Daylight. TUESDAY JANUARY 23RD
TEARING DOWN THE GATES

Even before the knife-edge election, the strength and integrity of the judicial system had faced a stern test. Microsoft, a company whose annual turnover is greater than the gross domestic product of many small nations, found itself at odds with government regulators. The ensuing legal battle was a drama of the highest order and who better to tell it than tonight's guest, KEN AULETTA, author of World War 3.0: The Microsoft Trial and the Battle to Rule the New Economy. Auletta joins Milt to talk about the Microsoft antitrust case, and the likely attitude of the new administration to the hi-tech industry and market regulation. SPORTS RAGE

Parents assaulting each other at Little League games, late challenges in ice-hockey games that leave players paralyzed, fast balls hurled at hitters waiting to bat and boxers who feel the need to bite as well as punch. A cursory glance through the sports sections reveals that violence on the field of play didn't end when the Circus Maximus closed its gates. Tonight we are joined by lawyer and Sports Illustrated journalist, LESTER MUNSON and sports attorney and author ELDON HAM as we discuss the new phenomenon of 'Sportsrage' and why HAM believes the law needs to be changed to curb violence in sports.
