Even
before the knife-edge election, the strength and integrity of the judicial
system had faced a stern test. Microsoft, a company whose annual turnover
is greater than the gross domestic product of many small nations, found
itself at odds with government regulators. The ensuing legal battle was
a drama of the highest order and who better to tell it than tonight's
guest, KEN AULETTA, author of World
War 3.0: The Microsoft Trial and the Battle to Rule the New Economy.
Auletta joins Milt to talk about the Microsoft antitrust case, and the
likely attitude of the new administration to the hi-tech industry and
market regulation. In researching the book Auletta conducted extensive
interviews, including one with a little known attorney by the name of

SPORTS RAGE
Parents assaulting each other at Little League games, late challenges
in ice-hockey games that leave players paralyzed, fast balls hurled at
hitters waiting to bat and boxers who feel the need to bite as well as
punch. A cursory glance through the sports sections reveals that violence
on the field of play didn't end when the Circus Maximus closed its gates.
Tonight we are joined by lawyer and Sports Illustrated journalist, LESTER
MUNSON and sports attorney and author ELDON HAM as we discuss the new
phenomenon of 'Sportsrage' and why HAM believes the law needs to be changed
to curb violence in sports.
