Milt talks to BEN WATTENBERG co-author of THE
FIRST MEASURED CENTURY, a fascinating survey of the indices that have
documented social and economic change in the US 1900-2000. For example
the number of people who believe that sex before marriage is always wrong
fell from 37% in 1972 to 24% in 1996, while the number of people who think
that adultery is always wrong has actually increased from 70% in 1972
to 78% in 1996. Joining Wattenberg will be American Historian, Professor
RICHARD JOHN and poll expert Professor MOLLY ANDOLINA.

spent five years living in and researching the Robet Taylor Homes in Chicago,
his results as presented in the new book are as surprising as they are
troubling. In the second hour of the show we talk to DAVID LEVERING LEWIS
the award winning biographer of W.E.B DuBois. Lewis talks about the eventful
and illuminating life of DuBois as set out in the second volume of his
acclaimed biography of the founder of the NAACP, W.E.B
DU BOIS: THE FIGHT FOR EQUALITY AND THE AMERICAN CENTURY.

Joining us will be PROFESSOR BRUCE CHILTON author of the new book RABBI
JESUS: THE JEWISH LIFE AND TEACHING THAT INSPIRED CHRISTIANITY. Describing
his work as ‘the first comprehensive, critical biography to date’ CHILTON’S
book synthesizes the wealth of historical information about Jesus into
a coherent picture taking into account the Jewish context in which he
lived and taught.
