(WGN-AM)- Two Wheaton houses were broken into Wednesday morning with the residents at home, according to Wheaton Police.

One burglary occurred in the 700 block of East Evergreen at about 5 a.m. The residents of that home were awakened by noises, according to a police press release. One resident looked downstairs and observed a white male in his early to mid 30s, medium build with sandy blond hair. He was approximately 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Officers responded and police dogs had no luck finding a trail, police said. Computer equipment was reported stolen.

The second burglary occurred in the 1900 block of Brentwood Lane about two-and-a-half miles away. The suspect again entered through a rear first-floor window while the residents were asleep, according to the release.

The residents discovered the open window in the morning, Police said. A purse had been taken.

Anyone with information should contact Deputy Chief Tom Meloni at (630) 260-4862.
