(WGN-AM)- A Chicago postal worker arrested Wednesday in a 2006 sexual assault and kidnapping is being investigated in connection with other attacks, police said today.
Tommie Naylor, 41, of the 7900 block of South Yale Avenue, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at the postal facility where he works in Forest Park, authorities said. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated kidnapping in the May 2006 attack, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.
In a bond hearing this afternoon, Naylor was ordered held without bail by Cook County Criminal Court Judge Ramon Ocasio III.
Naylor was expected to appear in Cook County Bond Court today, Perez said.
Police News Affairs did not have details about the 2006 attack other than it happened in the 7500 block of South Lafayette Avenue, Perez said.
Naylor was arrested without incident at his workplace in the 7500 block of West Roosevelt Road in Forest Park by the Chicago Police fugitive apprehension unit, Perez said.
The address is a U.S. Postal Service facility, and Naylor is a postal worker who has been placed on leave following his arrest, said Mark Reynolds, a Chicago-based Postal Service spokesman.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating whether Naylor may have been involved in other attacks similar to the May 2006 one, Perez said.
