(WGN-AM)- An Oak Brook man was ordered held on $450,000 bond Friday on charges that he fired gunshots at two Chicago police officers.
Brandon K. Myers, 34, of the 1700 block of West Butterfield Road, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault for discharging a firearm.
Prosecutors say Myers fired the shots at the officers Wednesday night around 11:30 p.m. after his accomplice, Riley Fleming, 37, robbed two victims at gunpoint at the 3300 block of West Maypole Avenue on Chicago's West Side.
Fleming, of the 1600 block of North Nagle Avenue in Chicago, was charged with armed robbery with a firearm and ordered held on $400,000 bond.
Police began chasing Myers and Fleming after their vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of Kedzie Avenue and Washington Boulevard, prosecutors said.
After Fleming and Myers fled on foot, Myers allegedly fired at the two officers who were chasing them. One officer returned fire, striking Myers in the calf before arresting them both. The victims of the armed robbery later identified Myers and Fleming, prosecutors said.
