John Deere has recalled more than 20,000 lawn tractors sold at John Deere dealers, Lowe’s and Home Depot stores from October 2010 to September 2011.
Models D100, D110, D120 and D130 are recalled because hardware used to hold the mower blade brake assembly to the mower deck can break, causing the mower blades to spin longer than normal after power to the mower is turned off. This poses a laceration hazard, but no injuries have been reported.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says 15,500 lawn tractors are involved in the recall. The lawn tractors were sold between December 2010 and September 2011.

In addition, about 5,200 model D100 lawn tractors are recalled because the hardware used to hold the brake assembly to the transmission housing can break. This can cause the brakes to fail and a loss of control of the lawn tractor. The lawn tractors were sold between October 2010 and September 2011.

Consumers should stop using the recalled lawn tractors and contact Deere & Company for a free hardware inspection and repair. You can call them at 1-800-537-82233 or visit their website at www.johndeere.com.
The recalled tractors are green with yellow seats and mower decks. The model number is located on both sides of the tractor’s hood.
No injuries or incidents have been reported in connection with either recall.
